| Purchased this for several uses. One for a screw-type pin on a 1911 sight that always wiggled loose after 100-ish rounds. Haven't had an issue since. Also have used it on other projects around the house and has worked every time. Please note that the blue is the "non-permanent" type and red is the "permanent" one. Make sure you choose the correct type for your application. Sometimes the blue does take quite a bit of wrestling to get it to shear though. Also, the Loctite is very runny, so I would highly suggest laying down some newspaper or pouring in a little cup or plastic ramekin and use a q-tip or toothpick to get on threads. |

I am very satisfied with this product. I have used loctite on the pivot screws of knives, on sheath screws, in chair assemblies, and on firearms accessories.
It prevents objects that tend to loosen from regular vibration or operation from falling to pieces in one's hand. Loctite lowers maintenance time and improves product reliability.
I would recommend this to a friend. |

| So I had some screws that kept unscrewing themselves and falling out out of the bottom of my expensive, ergonomic office chair. I finally remembered seeing something called loctite in my dad's toolbox when I was a kid. So I bought some, used it, and that was the end of that. Really I'm not sure how I could give this less than 4 stars. It's a great product and it works. It's a little bit more runny than I expected so I made a bit of a mess before I got used to it. |

| I had a stubborn screw that kept working itself loose. After using Loctite 'Blue', it's been tight ever since. Does what it's supposed to for me. |

I purchased Loctite 242 over other threadlockers because of the great reviews it had garnered, but unfortunately, it did not work for my application. I needed to secure a loose crankset on my bike (which had been coming loose ever since the loss of an endcap). After cleaning and application, and over 24 hours of set time, the bolt and nut assembly which holds the crank shaft in place abruptly became loose and unsteady 15 seconds into a ride.
Overall, if you are looking for a threadlocker that is effective for smaller applications, this might be your answer, but for my situation, Loctite 242 was unable to handle the torque exerted on the crankset assembly from my pedaling motion. I would not recommend this product for scenarios where the amount of force applied is similar. |
